Free Doll Ornament Crochet Pattern
Materials:
1 oz Size 3 red crochet cotton
Size 0 (zero) steel crochet hook
Scrap of white felt
Embroidery floss, red and green
1 small bow with bell
Small amount fiberfill for stuffing
Size: 4 1/2" tall
Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Sides (make 2):
Row 1: Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across, ch 1, turn (12 sc).
Rows 2-18: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (12 sc).
Row 19: Dec over 1st 2 sc, sc in each of next 8 sc, dec over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn (10 sc).
Row 20: Dec over 1st 2 sc, sc in each of next 6 sc, dec over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn (8 sc).
Row 21: Dec over 1st 2 sc, sc in each of next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn (6 sc).
Row 22: Dec over 1st 2 sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc, finish off (4 sc).
Face:
Cut 1" diameter circle from white felt (I used a button for a template).
Using embroidery floss, embroider a mouth (simple backstitch) and eyes (French knots).
Using embroidery floss, sew face to front of one side of doll as shown.
Joining:
Holding sides together (doll face facing you), join cotton through both thicknesses in bottom right corner, ch 1, sc in same sp, sc evenly to top center (above doll's face), ch 8 for hanger, sl st in same sp, sc evenly around to bottom left corner (you may need to work 2-3 scs in corners), stuff doll w fiberfill through bottom opening, sc evenly across bottom, join w sl st in 1st sc, finish off.
Sew bow w bell to bottom of doll.
